Sometimes it’s important to step back and make space.
Space to heal, space to scream, space to sit silently, come out of the fog and allow feelings and ideas to percolate. I’ve been doing exactly this for the past few weeks because, like many of you, I’m absolutely exhausted from the emotional rollercoaster I’ve been on during this past year.
Exhaustion clutters the mind and leads to lots of crying, at least in my case.
Fortunately, Big D has learned to read my moods. I’m grateful to have someone who can support me whether I’m ugly-crying or coming up with plans for the next great adventure in writing or life.
And sometimes, even he needs to step back and make space.
If you’ve been feeling the same way or have been struggling to understand how you’re feeling, I hope you find comfort in knowing you’re not alone. It’s been a crazy year for all of us, and we’d do well to show ourselves some grace.
Thinking of you with a smile on my heart.
Until next time.
